Parasha Vayera (He Appeared):  Avraham's Amazing Trust

Gensis 17-22

In a shocking move, G-d told Avraham to sacrifice his beloved son, Yitzakh. Avraham’s experience from Genesis 22 is a great way for us to learn the difference between temptation and testing, the secret to receiving G-d’s promises for our lives and the reason the Bible says G-d has exalted His Word above His name.

Called to Restoration

Rabbi Jim shares the message given by Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn at the 2012 MJAA Rabbi's Conference. This message looks with a new perspective at the role of the Messianic Jewish Movement in God's plan for the future. Rabbi Jonathan can be heard giving the original message at www.bethmessiah.net. Recorded Jan. 21, 2012.

God's Chosen Fast: Yom Kippur

According to Isaiah 58:5, G-d’s true purpose for fasting was to loose bonds of wickedness, undo heavy burdens, free the oppressed and break every yoke. To do this, we must understand how we and others are kept in bondage by Satan. To learn how to break free from Satan’s bondage, the true meaning of “afflicting your soul” and how to deal with guilt, shame and a guilty conscience, listen now. Recorded Oct. 8, 2011.

Parasha Shoftim (Judges):  CSI Jerusalem

Deuteronomy 16:18-21:9

It is amazing how the Torah portion can line up with life or current events. On the day before the 10 anniversary of 9-11, this week’s portion teaches about the shedding of innocent blood. Rabbi Jim focuses on Deuteronomy 21:1-9, which tells how to deal with unsolved murder. Recorded Sept. 10, 2011.

Is the Law Abolished?

Many people believe the Torah, or G-d’s Written Law, is no longer valid as we are now under the “Law of Grace.” This idea is often based on the translation and interpretation of Ephesians 2:15 in most Bibles, including the newly-published Tree of Life Messianic Family Bible. These literal and paraphrased translations say that the Messiah abolished the Law. Looking at what Yeshua the Messiah and Paul said elsewhere about the Torah, did Yeshua really mean to abolish it and did Paul mean that it was abolished? Rabbi Jim puts Eph. 2:15 in Biblical and Jewish cultural context to find the real meaning of the verse, and looks at its affect on society today.

Parasha Bo (Enter)

Exodus 10-13:16

In this message, Rabbi Jim describes how the Passover sacrifice points to Yeshua being the Messiah, then discusses the powerful historical impact of the command to keep Passover or be "cut off from Israel." Not wanting to be cut off, Jewish people risked their lives to resist assimilation and persecution for hundreds of years. Rabbi Jim reveals Satan's diabolical plan to incite the Church against Passover, causing it to do away with the holiday and forbidding Believers in Yeshua to keep it, even though Passover points people to the Messiah. As a result, the Jewish people came to believe that one can't be Jewish and believe in Yeshua.
